We currently have a vacancy in our supply chain management (SCM) department, an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to learn and progress through a supply chain function.

About the role - Supply Chain & Planning Degree Apprentice

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the supply chain department in the general day to day and monthly operations, whilst also supporting continuous improvement both individually and departmentally.

• Sales Order Management, including registration and liaising with global customers.
• Demand Planning / Forecast Management within our SAP Systems.
• Logistics support function including customs declarations.
• Learning & understanding of all elements of the supply chain function (Planning / Logistics / Purchasing).
• Project Work & Continuous Improvement.

This position provides an opportunity for further education with a view to obtaining a qualification linked to the role / business operations.

What you will be responsible for:

General daily business administration and customer service related to our supply chain function. Working in a timely and accurate manner to ensure smooth running of the department in meeting daily and monthly targets, whilst working within the Supply Chain Management department of a leading global business equipment manufacturer, assisting with operational projects and tasks as required.

About you

Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Experience

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with people of all levels are essential for this role.
• Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines, as part of a team as well as on one’s own initiative.
• Good IT skills, proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel with the ability to analyse and interrogate data.
• Excellent numeracy, written and verbal communication skills.
• Work within the supply chain of a market leading manufacturer & circular technology centre.

Experience is not essential for this role and the suitable individual must be enthusiastic, energetic and willing to learn a complex business model from the bottom up. They must be able to understand and appreciate the varied positions of stakeholders within the global supply chain and have the ability to be self-motivated to develop the role through exploring new ideas and creative solutions in a fluid environment.

• A Level qualification or above in business or economics would be an advantage for this role.
• 5 GCSE passes at grade A-C or equivalent, English and Maths are essential.
• Knowledge of, or a keen interest to develop a career in supply chain & logistics.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.

About the role - Automation Mechatronic Engineer

As an automation mechatronic engineer, you will be involved in designing, developing and implementing innovative mechatronic systems / solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, PLC/HMI systems, industrial networks, and control panel design.

What you will be responsible for:

• Design and Development: Design and develop electrical control systems, including control panels, automation solutions, and industrial electrical schematics.
• PLC/HMI Programming: Develop, configure, and test PLC and HMI applications (Keyence, Omron, Beckhoff etc.).
• Technical Documentation: Produce technical drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and supporting documentation.
• System Integration: Integrate sensors, actuators, PLCs, HMIs, drives, motion systems, and industrial networks into complete automation solutions.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose issues in control systems, support commissioning activities, and implement effective technical solutions.
• Project Participation: Contribute to project planning, design reviews, scheduling, and delivery, ensuring successful completion of engineering tasks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, software teams, project managers, and automation builders to deliver integrated systems.
• Compliance: Ensure all designs meet relevant electrical standards, safety requirements, and best practices.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical control systems and implement improvements to enhance system performance, safety, and efficiency.

About you

Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Experience

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical.
• Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in electrical/control system design and development within an industrial or automation environment.
• Strong knowledge of control panel design, electrical schematics, and component selection.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Experience with PLC programming and HMI development (Keyence, Omron, Beckhoff, or similar).
• Familiarity with industrial automation systems, sensors, actuators, and safety circuits.
• Understanding of industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, etc.).
• Knowledge of commissioning, factory acceptance testing, or site support (desirable).

Soft skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Good to know

• We mainly work a nine day fortnight, working annualised hours resulting in 21~23 non-working Fridays off per year.
