About the role - C# Programmer

As part of our drive to digitise our manufacturing processes, we are expanding our Automation Team and currently have a vacancy for a C# Programmer to join our OT team within our automation department, Our automation team, create bespoke automated equipment / production lines, working with major suppliers and utilising processes such as 3D printing, industrial robots, Cobots, while incorporating smart factory, industry 4.0 technologies.

You will design, develop, implement, and maintain OT applications and automation systems, in our Wrexham and Overseas facilities. Ensuring seamless integration with control systems and compliance with cybersecurity standards.

What you will be doing:

  • Application Development & Integration: Configure and deploy SCADA, HMI, and MES systems; develop automation scripts and logic for PLCs and industrial controllers; build custom OT applications using C# and Web based Languages & Framework for integration and data handling.
  • System Commissioning: Install, test, and validate OT applications on production lines.
  • Maintenance of Current Systems: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing OT applications and automation systems; apply updates, patches, and enhancements to ensure reliability and security.
  • IT/OT Convergence: Integrate OT systems with enterprise IT platforms for data analytics and reporting.
  • Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for OT applications and resolve system issues promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation for all OT applications and integrations.

    About the role - Automation Mechatronic Engineer

    As an automation mechatronic engineer, you will be involved in designing, developing and implementing innovative mechatronic systems / solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, PLC/HMI systems, industrial networks, and control panel design.

    What you will be responsible for:

    • Design and Development: Design and develop electrical control systems, including control panels, automation solutions, and industrial electrical schematics.
    • PLC/HMI Programming: Develop, configure, and test PLC and HMI applications (Keyence, Omron, Beckhoff etc.).
    • Technical Documentation: Produce technical drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and supporting documentation.

    About you

    • Strong knowledge of control panel design, electrical schematics, and component selection.
    • Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
    • Experience with PLC programming and HMI development (Keyence, Omron, Beckhoff, or similar).
    • Familiarity with industrial automation systems, sensors, actuators, and safety circuits.
    • Understanding of industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, etc.).
    • Knowledge of commissioning, factory acceptance testing, or site support (desirable).

    As an automation design engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing and improving our production lines and equipment of the future for use in the UK and other Brother production facilities worldwide. You will be involved at every stage from design, development, buiks commissioning and improvement.

    What you will be responsible for:

    • Develop detailed designs using CAD software.
    • Conduct research and analysis to ensure design feasibility and optimization.
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation of designs, modifications, and project progress.
    • Prepare project costings including BOM’s.
    • Perform testing and validation to ensure design performance and reliability.
    • Provide support for modifications / design changes found at Build / Commissioning stages of the project.

    About the role - Facilities Maintenance Engineer

    As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will be working with associates across the different departments by providing electrical and mechanical support.

    What you will be doing:

    • Electrical Installation.
    • Mechanical maintenance and installation, following the companies ‘Safe System of Work’ and Isolation Policy.
    • Covers general facility maintenance and improvement of services, by sourcing and managing contractors on numerous projects.
    • Working to a schedule of maintenance activities, whilst being flexible in supporting Production and Moulding Operations day to day.
    • Basic understanding of PLC programming, enabling minor adjustments to be made to programmes.
    • Energy saving improvements and initiatives.
    • Working to a TPM schedule or attending and solving Production system breakdowns including maintenance of automation equipment.

    What you'll need to be successful

    • Motivated to continually improving your knowledge and personal development.
    • Creative and have good problem solving skills to design, review and implement improvement in the construction and operations of facilities, focusing on electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
